The Cubby

Beyond the white picket fence The Cubby offers privacy and seclusion with a small balcony overlooking the garden in the backyard of the KI Dragonfly Guesthouse.

The kitchenette is big enough for you to prepare basic meals. There's a small fridge, heating element, toastie oven and microwave. Guests in The Cubby are welcome to use the kitchen in the main house if they have grander plans!

Enjoy meals at a cosy table with a view of a beautiful locally sourced limestone feature wall. See if you can find the two love heart shaped stones embedded in the wall and watch out for birds who may have made the bird box attached to the wall home.

The decadent and gloriously comfortable Queen Size Bed will leave you refreshed for another day of exploring this incredible part of the world.

In a former life, the white picket fence was the heritage green front fence of the Guesthouse. Like the fence, the stunning hibiscus tree growing out the front was transferred (via a cutting) to the back yard when the front verandah was built. The tree's stunning pink flowers inspired the colour of the office exterior walls! Every spring the loquat tree that overhangs The Cubby garden is heavy with fruit that the birds share with the guests!

If you are feeling social or would like a different perspective, the outdoor lounge situated between The Cubby and the Guesthouse beckons. In cooler weather, this space can be closed off, and in summer, the doors can be thrown open to allow the cool breeze to flow through.
